Year 9

In year 9 students continue to learn new skills and develop a deeper understanding of the design process. We put more emphasis on research skills and move to widen the focus of projects to designing for a target market. Year 9 is a key year for students at school when they have to make choices about GCSE examination subjects they will choose to study at Key Stage 4. Our aim is to give the students a broad width of knowledge and understanding to allow them to make informed decisions about whether Design & Technology; in any of its forms is the right option for them. Again each year we fine tune our projects taking on board student feedback to ensure individuals are gaining the best possible experience in our subject.

In year 9 the students spend half a year in Food Technology and the other half following a programme of Resistant Materials/Graphics/Engineering.This page is currently awaiting content
