OCR Nationals in Health and Social Care Level 2- GCSE Equivalent
On the level 2 course students develop an understanding of the health and social care sector. They will also become familiar with the different types of care settings, the job roles and the values held by those who work with people. Students complete 3 units at this level.
The units studied are:
Communicating with service users in care settings - The principles of oral communication are examined as well as topics such as active listening and body language.
Practical Caring - This unit looks at the skills and qualities required in day-to-day caring.
Development and Care of Young Children –This topic looks at the physical, intellectual and emotional and social development of young children as well as examining the responsibilities of parenthood.
