The Lessons from Auschwitz Project
Each year two students from year 12 are chosen to represent the school on the Lessons from Auschwitz Project. Students attend seminars and a one day trip to Poland. The participants then complete a project within school. This year the two students did a assembly sharing their experiences. They will also be working on the Sixth From ETC programme to deliver a lesson to their fellow peers on issues surround tolerance and understanding in today’s society.
Divided by Race United in War and Peace project
Students from year 9 and year 10 were involved in a local project which was supported by Southwark council. Ten students participated in a project which saw them interview two Caribbean World War Two veterans who had served in the Royal Air Force. The BBC filmed the interviews and they were used in a recent BBC documentary.
