Crest Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold)

CREST is a project-based awards scheme for the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering andMaths). The initiative is aimed at computer science students aged 13-19, linking the personal passions of young computer scientists to curriculum-based learning.

Bronze Award

·         In year 9 students works towards a bronze award with each student being expected to commit at least 10 hours work on their project which is reviewed at the end of the year by their teacher.

 

Silver Award

·         In year 11 students works towards a silver award with each student being expected to commit at least 30 hours work on their project which is reviewed at the end of the year by industrial or educational evaluators selected by the CREST local coordinator.  

 

Gold Award

·         Year 13 students work towards the gold award with each student expected to commit 70 hours work on their project.  UCAS endorses the inclusion of CREST Awards in personal statements and can be used to enhance applications to universities.
