Chocolate Bar Development
This project covers a wide range of disciplines and students develop a number of skills. Students are given a design brief asking them to design a chocolate bar and its packaging to be sold at London Zoo. Students manufacture an MDF former and use the vacuum former to create the food grade PVC mould. This project introduces students to plastics and the associated forming processes. By designing the packaging, there is also opportunity to explore graphic products and extend their CAD skills. As well as these skills this project sees an introduction to industrial processes and manufacturing and broadens the students understanding of the design process and its links to actual products.
