Cake Sale raises bumper funds for Philippines
St Saviour's students have a long history of raising money for those less fortunate, but the recent response to the typhoon in the Philippines has broken all records for school fundraising.
There is still money coming in, but so far we have reached £800. A small group of sixth formers were quick to respond to the crisis, by spreading information about the human cost of the typhoon to their colleagues (Over 11 million people have been affected by the tyhoon with thousands losing their lives) and then organising an enormous cake sale for all staff and students.
The money is being sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee and will be used to provide food and hygiene kits. If you would like to contribute, you can do so via their website http://www.dec.org.uk/appeals/philippines-typhoon-appeal/philippines-typhoon-appeal-storify
