On 3rd October our whole school met together to celebrate our Harvest Festival. It was a wonderful occasion where every single person came forward to offer a gift of food to be given to local people in need.
As a Christian school, Ms May reminded us of the importance of joining together to make a difference to others in our local community. As people brought their gifts forward we sang our way through 12 hymns and songs which brought a real sense of joy! By the end, the stage was groaning under the weight of the food.
This has now been distributed between several local charities – The Manna Centre, The Waterloo Food Bank, and the Salvation Army, who work with the homeless, and a local group for the elderly based at our parish church, St Matthew’s at the Elephant. It is inspiring to think that our donations will make a real difference to those who need them.
Thank you all for your kind gifts.
