Travel and Tourism Students Test Their Spanish
On 19 March the Year 12 Travel and Tourism group went to Mesón Don Felipe, a tapas restaurant near Waterloo. We have been learning Spanish since September and our recent topic has been about ordering food.
We tasted different types of tapas including pulpo (octopus), pescaditos fritos (whitebait -fried whole fish including eyeballs) and patatas bravas (potatoes in spicy tomato sauce).
We all ordered our food and drink in Spanish, such as ‘Quiero tortilla española, por favor’ or ‘Quiero zumo de mazana, por favor’. It was good fun and we all tried at least one thing we hadn’t eaten before. ‘Me gusta mucho el restaurante Don Felipe’.
