Start of the new academic year - information and reminders

We are excited to welcome students back to school in September after what we trust has been a restful break. Term begins for Year 7 at 10am on Wednesday, 2nd September. All students in Year 7 should report to the back playground for their first registration.  The gate to this playground is on Bartholomew Street. Parents are welcome to stay until students go for their first assembly at 10:15am. The 6th Form will also return to school on 2nd September and should assemble in the dining hall at 10:30am. The rest of the school should be in school in plenty of time for a 10:00am registration on Thursday, 3rd September.

In order for the term to get off to a positive start, it is very important that all uniform is correct and that any new school shoes are leather or leather-effect. Please be aware that canvas shoes are not allowed. It is also important that girls in Year 7 to Year 11 have only single stud earrings in the ear lobe and hair is in accordance with the school rules.

If you are considering buying technology for a new school year or planning ahead for Christmas presents, please be aware that our rules about mobile phones will also apply to any wearable technology capable of sending messages.  As these items are not allowed in any exam or test situation, they are not practical for school use.  They can also be of very high value and the school cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage occurring.  Whilst we encourage the use of a simple wrist watch, the wearing of complex technology such as any smart watch including the apple watch is not appropriate and will be in contravention of the school rules.

Year 7 and Year 9 have been given new school bags. All other year groups should have their school bags from last year.
